Project Glowing Heart Capability Matrix¶
Status and maturity are evidence-scoped under the Landscape Methodology. Comparable technologies identify adjacent categories or interfaces; they are not rankings or equivalence claims.
| Capability | Current Status | Maturity | Evidence | Comparable Technologies | Next Milestone |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standalone Core fixture execution | A narrow GRIN smoke fixture and artifact trail are documented | Prototype | v0.1 baseline, v0.2 first pulse | Headless renderer fixtures; simulation test cases | Add stable release-level fixture provenance and repeatability gates |
| Machine-readable observation output | Metrics, summaries, and Observatory-shaped metadata are documented | Experimental | v0.3 observable output, v0.4 Observatory entry | Render manifests; experiment result bundles; telemetry exports | Define versioned retention and compatibility policy |
| Human-observable preview artifacts | Preview images, gallery entries, and narrative reports exist | Experimental | v0.6 first human observable, v0.7 preview gallery | Render galleries; scientific visualization reports | Bind every promoted visual to immutable provenance |
| Shared fixture vocabulary | Preview schema and candidate instance describe neutral fixture metadata | Prototype | v1.3 schema, v1.4 instance, v1.4.1 alignment | Scene interchange schemas; test-fixture manifests | Validate both producers against a stabilized schema revision |
| Static Godot metadata export | Candidate scene metadata can be represented without runtime claims | Experimental | v0.9 metadata, v1.1 export | Engine scene exporters; asset metadata pipelines | Add source-version provenance and explicit unknown-field handling |
| Core/Godot gap reporting | Metadata differences and blockers are recorded explicitly | Experimental | v1.2 gap matrix | Compatibility reports; schema conformance matrices | Re-run against stabilized fixture and observer declarations |
| Claim-safe public demo planning | Safe statements, blocked claims, and handoff tasks are documented | Prototype | v1.5 public demo readiness, v1.6 handoff | Demo readiness reviews; evidence-led release notes | Produce a reproducible public demo packet with retained evidence |
| Shared observer vocabulary | Pose, projection, clipping, sampling, origin, and aspect conventions are defined | Experimental | v1.7 observer contract, v1.8.4 alignment | Camera interchange; renderer film/camera contracts | Stabilize the preview schema and validate emitted instances |
| Observer target alignment reporting | Each side can be assessed against one preview target; blockers remain | Experimental | v1.8 milestone, v1.8.3 alignment | Camera calibration reports; conformance test output | Resolve and re-evidence all target mismatches before comparison |
| Snapshot measurement semantics | Channel types, units, normalization, ranges, color models, and comparison statuses are defined | Prototype | v1.9 measurement contract | Scientific array metadata; render-pass declarations; color-management metadata | Validate concrete Core and Godot channel declarations |
| Cross-channel transforms | No reviewed transform currently relates bend magnitude to rendered RGB or intensity | Vision | v1.9 comparison boundary | Transfer functions; calibration models; render-pass conversion | Specify transform identity, parameters, provenance, uncertainty, and review gates |
| Difference packet | Inputs and required policy concepts are identified; packet design is not yet created | Vision | v1.9 next milestone | Image-difference manifests; conformance result packets | Define v2.0 packet schema and refusal behavior for non-comparable channels |
| Pixel comparison | Blocked by observer and channel comparability requirements | Vision | v1.8 alignment status, v1.9 channel policy | Regression image comparison; scientific field comparison | Demonstrate aligned, same-semantic inputs under an approved policy |
| Research-ready evidence package | Methods and preview artifacts exist, but independent repeatability and uncertainty evidence are incomplete | Vision | v1.5 claim boundary, v1.9 contract | Reproducible research compendia; FAIR data packages | Define review, replication, uncertainty, and archival requirements |
