Observer Journey¶
The Atlas is a map of observation systems, not a ranking of technologies.
This page orients first-time visitors. It is a navigation aid across observer families — not a maturity ladder, not a quality ranking, and not a roadmap commitment.

Each step is a different territory on the Atlas chart. The arrows show a common reading path for visitors exploring how observation is described in this repository. They do not mean that later steps replace earlier ones or that any step is "more advanced" in a general sense.
What each stop represents¶

Same questions, different receivers¶
Whether the observer is an eye, a microscope, a spectrometer, or a renderer, the Atlas asks the same structural questions (see Observer Grammar):
- What phenomenon arrives?
- What field or carrier carries it?
- How does transport evolve toward the receiver?
- What interaction occurs at the sensing boundary?
- What does the receiver record — in what units and channels?
- What artifact preserves the observation?
- What may be interpreted — and what must remain unknown?
Shared grammar aids navigation. It does not imply shared physics or interchangeable measurements.
How this relates to xPRIMEray¶
xPRIMEray's engineering work lives mainly in the computational observer territory and in Project Glowing Heart evidence. The wider Atlas keeps that work honest: a simulated image is one artifact in a chain, not a substitute for a retina, a detector readout, or a validated instrument channel.
